So, this is our story…
In 2014, whilst working at summer camp in the US, I met my partner-in-travel (and partner in life) Jon! We travelled around America together that summer but were then forced to make our relationship long-distance for a year. I went back to Hungary briefly before moving to Germany for a semester and Jon returned to the UK.
After a year of seeing each other only 3 times, we went back to America for another incredible summer. At the end of 2015, I decided to move to the UK to live with Jon during his final year at university. We haven’t looked back since!
In 2016 we packed our bags and travelled around Europe for a month. During that time we discovered many new places, from the beautiful old city of Prague, to the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean in Dubrovnik and the many wonders of the ancient Greeks in Athens.
We returned to the US for one more summer, exploring as much of the country as we could. We travelled from Hawaii to Florida, and even took a tour through the Caribbean. However, after doing seasonal work for a few years, we decided that we wanted careers. I’ve always wanted to get involved in sustainability and use my Geography degrees. This has led me into Transport Planning. Jon has been involved in tennis all his life, and now works as a full time tennis coach.
In 2018, at sunrise on top of a mountain in Madeira, Jon proposed and I said YES! We were due to be married in early 2020 but for reasons we are all aware of we have had to push our big day back to August 2021.
After we got married we decided to take a year off work and travel to some of the destinations that have been on our bucket list for a long time. So, in November 2021 we reduced our belongings to a backpack each, bought a one way ticket and flew across to world to explore Mexico, Central and South America.
